2006 Annual Kinnard Sports Jamboree |
|
The 24th Annual Sports Jamboree was held at
Indiantown Gap near Harrisburg June 23-25 for children ages 9-21 who are
blind, legally blind, or in wheelchairs. Even with the threat of
rain all weekend, the contestants, their families, and volunteers
persevered and the games went on with a short rain delay for some
events.
The weekend starts out on Friday with registration, dinner
and a party complete with DJ for dancing, fun, and games. The sports
events start on Saturday, after a parade and opening ceremonies.
Saturday night is a cake and cookie party. Team events are on Sunday
with the awards ceremonies following.
